Wow!! That's all I can say. And thank you to the thousands of fans that have come out to support the first season of the Outsider Poetry Slam League of America. Our first season has been a runaway success so far, and it's time to announce the members of the 2016 OPSLA All Star Team.
Erica Lowe of the Minooka Meter Maids is the MVP of the first half of the OPSLA season. A mighty versifier, she's about seventeen meters of badass. She's a limerick come to life. The Minooka Meter Maids are currently in a slump, and remain in third place in the Eastern Division, but have become one of the most popular teams in the League.
James Laurenson, the Kiwi actor who portrayed Raven Shadmock in The Monster Club is playing 3rd base on the Eastern Division All Star team. A player for the Rancho Cucamonga Kookamungas, Laurenson has the pipes to belt out velvetty sonnets or raucous haikus. The Rancho Cucamonga squad seems to have taken an insurmountable lead in the Western Division, but upstart teams like the Sheboygam Syllablists may still have something to say about it before all is said and done.
Outlaw poet Thomas L. Vaultonburg began the season as a member of the Rockford Pages , but just this week in the first trade in league history, became a member of the Eastern Division leaders Chemung Shamans. As predicted by his mother, he would one day be shipped to Chemung, but not in a wooden crate. It has been rumoured that Vaultonburg is cutting a spoken word album with Chemung Shaman's fellow All Star...
Ekphrasia, due to be released in early 2017. The album is titled Forked Tongues. Here are the current standings in the Outsider Poetry League of America.
Western Division

Rancho Cucamonga Kookamungas 7 0
Yakima Yakkers 4 3

Once again, we'd like to thank all of the fans across the country who have made our spoken word league the most popular in the world, and in the future months we will be adding franchises in eight more American cities.
